May bank holiday - Tryweryn

This Bank Holiday trip is suitable for anyone comfortable on Grade 2+/3 water (e.g. Mile End Mill or Dart trips). The Tryweryn is a dam release river near Bala in North Wales which offers two great sections for us to enjoy; the Lower section at grade 2-3 with one drop at grade 4 (easily portaged) and the Upper Tryweryn at grade 3-4. The dam is expected to release water on at least two of the three days we will be there.

Rather than camping and freezing, this year we will be staying at Glan Llyn Activity Centre on the shore of Llyn Tegid about five miles outside Bala, where we will have our own accommodation block with en-suite bedrooms and free Wi-Fi. A drying room is also available. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow case.

Breakfasts, pack lunches and evening meals on Saturday and Sunday are all included in the price.

As a registered club we all get half-price day tickets at the Tryweryn, paying £7.00 instead of £14.00. This includes parking, changing facilities and lockers, hot showers and regular shuttles on the Upper Tryweryn. There is also a café on site.

Total cost of the trip will be £100. We will need a deposit of £26 to confirm your spot on the trip. This excludes transport, kit hire and day tickets for the Tryweryn. If we find ourselves without water one day there are many other options for outdoor exploration and fun in the local area.
