The approx cost will be £55-70 depending on numbers attending and non refundable deposit of £55 is required after confirmation.
To get the most out of this course, (and also of interest to people not on the course) there are a couple of books strongly recommended:
1) Kayak, the new Frontier by William Nealy
These comic book style illustrations brilliantly and humorously reveal a wealth of information about river features, navigating rivers and paddling well. A must read cover to cover for any aspiring river leader, and particularly relevant to this course.
2) Whitewater Safety and Rescue by Franco Ferrero
This biblical tome of kayaking scripture will be quoted and referred to throughout the course. The depth and brilliance of the advice is matched by its effectiveness on and off the river. Aspiring leaders should familiarise themselves with the content and closely read the sections they feel are relevant to the course. The section on Leadership styles would enhance any business course on the topic.
Buy, beg, borrow, steal, or add these books to your Christmas list to bring yourself a wise step closer to kayaking enlightenment.
